BA (Prep) vs. Caso Bay U18
Saturday, the Prep Hockey Team faced off against Casco Bay U18 team at Bridgton Academy. The Wolverines got the scoring started when Jake Moore (Medford,MA) took a pass from Travis Bobb (Harlem, NY) and snuck it past the goalie. The Wolverines then opened up the second period, scoring when Blake Babineau’s (Gorham, ME) shot found the back of the net. Dan Fontaine (Blurrivile, RI) added two goals in the third period to propel the Wolverines to a 4-0 win. Dan Curran (Chelmsford, MA) played outstanding in net, earning himself the win and a shutout.
BA (Junior) vs. Junior Bruins
On Sunday, the Junior Team looked to bounce back from Friday’s game against the Junior Bruins. It was a hard-fought game of two-way hockey between the teams, ending in a 5-1 win for the Wolverines. Irving had two goals, and Brendan Duff (Stellarton, NS), McLain, and Zach Lemerand (Grosse Ile, MI) each had one. Ryan Slatky (Manchester, NH) captured the win in net for BA
BA (Junior) vs. Portland Junior Pirates
Friday night at BIA, the Bridgton Academy Junior Hockey Team took on the Portland Junior Pirates. Both teams came out flying, playing tough defense and keeping the tally 0-0 until halfway through the second period when Cam McLain (Westbrook, ME) opened up the scoring with a pass from Andrew Irving (Beverly, MA). The Wolverines had a solid showing in net by Michael Defilippo (Montreal,QC). Unfortunately, the Wolverines could not hold their lead as the Pirates scored two unanswered goals for a final score of 2-1.

BA (Juniors) vs. Rice Memorial
The Bridgton Academy Junior Hockey team hosted Rice Memorial for two games this past weekend. On Friday night, the Wolverines defeated Rice by a score of 5-1. Cam McLain (Westbrook, ME) had a hat-trick on the night, while the Wolverines got goals from Trip Franzese (Marblehead, MA) and Ryan McDonough (Dorchester, MA) in addition. Ryan Slatky (Manchester, NH) played in net, picking up the win.
On Saturday afternoon the Wolverines completed the sweep of Rice Memorial by a score of 2-1. Tripp Franzese (Marblehead, MA) and Luke DiMarco (Glastonbury, CT) each had a goal in the win. Michael De Filippo (Montreal, QC) picked up the win in net.
The Wolverines return to action this weekend when they host the Portland Junior Pirates Friday night at 7pm at Bridgton Ice Arena. The Wolverines are then on the road to face the Junior Bruins on Sunday at 1pm in Exeter, NH.

BA (Prep) at Next Level Showcase
The Prep Team traveled to Hudson, NH to play in the Next Level Showcase.
Friday against the Portland Jr Pirates U18 team. BA won 8-0 goals from: Jake Moore (Medford, MA), Connor Demore (3) (Watertown, MA), Spence Cowand (Gorham, ME), Travis Bobb (Harlem, NY), Joe Gambardella (Southington, CT), and Brendan Brady (Quincy, MA).

BA vs. Maine Wild (Junior Team) 10/16/13
The
Bridgton Academy Junior Hockey Wolverines traveled south to Biddeford to play a
matinee against the Maine Wild on Wednesday afternoon. The Wild took an early
1-0 lead from a short-handed goal. The Wolverines would even up the score at
one from a Brendan Duff (Stellarton, Nova Scotia) goal.
The
second period got underway with the Wild taking a 2-1 lead. Ryan Shea
(Pembroke, MA) would then even up the score at two, with a power play goal.
The third
period saw the two teams exchange scoring bids. At the end of regulation the
score remained 4-4. A five minute overtime period saw the Wolverines get the
game-winner after Luke DiMarco (Glastonbury, CT) collected a turnover at the
red line and fed Zach Lemerand (Grosse Ile, MI) a pass that Lemerand wristed
past the Wild net minder.
Brendan
Duff had two goals, while Ryan Shea, and Zach Lemerand added a goal apiece.
Nicolas Dupuis-Gaudreault (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC) collected his first
win in net.
The Wolverines
return to action this weekend when they host Rice AAA for two games at Bridgton
Ice Arena on Friday night at 7pm and Saturday at 12pm.

BA vs. Middlesex Black Bears (Prep Team)
The second game of the weekend was against Middlesex Black Bears. Again, the young men came out ready to compete and tried to finish the weekend off on a high note. Demore once again would have the only goal of the game from an awesome assist by Maxwell Davies (Martha’s Vineyard, MA). Mike Cerasuolo was in net for this game and had a shutout going into the third period. A couple of bad breaks for the Wolverines would end up being costly, resulting in the Wolverines 3-1 loss.
BA vs. Biddeford Sharks (Prep Team)
Prep Hockey had two games as well this
past weekend. The first game was Friday night against the Biddeford Sharks, and
the Wolverines came out sharp and ready to battle. The first and only goal came
from Connor Demore (Watertown, MA). Goaltender Dan Curran (Chelmsford, MA) had
a great game in the crease, not letting in a single puck. The Wolverines would
go on to win the game 1-0.
BA vs. National Sports Academy (Junior Hockey)
The Junior Hockey team traveled down to Lake Placid, NY this
past weekend for two games against National Sports Academy. The first game was a
back and forth shoot–out between the two teams. The Wolverines were led by
Andrew Irving (Beverly, MA) and Ryan McDonough (Dorchester, MA), both with two
goals. In addition, Luke DiMarco (Glastonbury, CT), Cam McLain (Westbrooke,
ME), and Zach Lemerand (Grosse Ile, MI) each added one goal. Ryan Slatky
(Manchester, NH) earned not only his first victory of the season, but the team’s
as well with a 7-6 final.
With a
quick turnaround, the Wolverines faced off early Saturday morning. This game
turned out to be the opposite of the first game, with low scoring and great
goaltending. The outstanding goalkeeping would come from Michael DeFillippo
(Montreal, QC). Brendon Duff got the scoring going for the Wolverines with a
great shot. NSA would rally back to tie the game late in the second period.
Going into the third period, the Wolverines continued grinding and creating
scoring chances, which is when Duff added his second goal of the game, it was
ultimately the game-winner with a 2-1 final score.

BA vs. Walpole Express (Junior Team)

The Junior team faced off against Walpole Express on Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately Saturday’s game did not go the Wolverines way and lost 6-1. It was a hard-fought game led by Mike Defillippo (Montreal, QC) in goal. Trip Franzese (Marblehead, MA) had the lone score for BA.
Sunday, the Wolverines came out strong and physical and mentally ready to play a solid game. BA would force the game into overtime where the game would end in a 1-1 tie. The single goal came from Andrew Irving (Beverly, MA), with phenomenal goaltending from Ryan Slatky (Manchester, NH). The Junior team will make their first road trip this weekend to Lake Placid, NY to take on the National Sports Academy.
BA vs. East Coast Wizards (Prep Team)
Saturday, the Prep team traveled to Bedford, MA
to play the East Coast Wizards. The game ended in a 3-0 loss, but with only
twelve players dressed, the team battled adversity and all made strong efforts.
Goaltender Jack Lindsay (Goodrich, MI) played a great game.

Friday, the Prep Hockey team faced off against Middlesex
Black Bears. The Wolverines earned their first goal of the season from forward
Stephen Hughes (Higham, MA) after linemate Travis Bobb (Harlem, NY) fed a great
pass in front of the net. Less than two minutes later, the Wolverines took the
lead after defenseman Luke Moma (Wasilla, AK) rushed into the zone and found
Connor Demore (Watertown, MA) open for the goal. Great goaltending came form
Michael Cerasuolo (Montreal, QC), and the securing goal came from Blake
Babineau (Gorham, ME), giving BA the 4-2 win.
