BA (B) BEATS VINEYARD 6-1
The Wolverines welcomed the Martha's Vineyard Hockey Team to Bridgton Friday night. This "B" game for the Wolverines proved to be an exciting and entertaining affair.
Pat Thornton(Tri Valley/Dublin,CA) paced the Wolverines with 2 goals and 2 assists. Also highlighting the Wolverine's victory was Tom MacInnes (Plymouth North HS/Plymouth, MA)1 goal 2 assists and Sean Eubanks (Cape Elizabeth High School, ME) 1 goal and 3 assists.
"I thought we played pretty good as a team. It was great seeing guys like George Wickey(1 assist) and Shawn Wassel(1 assist) playing so well for us. Those guys have worked their behind off in practice in it showed tonight" said Head "B" Coach Mike Meserve.
Martha's Vineyard really brought a high energy and tempo system in play. They were not intimidated at all by the older and somewhat bigger Bridgton team. At 15:50 of the second period, Vineyard Captain Chris Davies, buried a shot into the upper corner and close the BA lead to 3-1. "That was a great shot. Davies has great hands, moves the puck well and obviously has a tremendous shot" said Coach Mike Meserve. That was as close as MV would get, in the third period BA scored 2 more and walked away with a 6-1 victory.
The Wolverines are off until after the Holiday Break, when they head south to the Eastern Junior Hockey League Showcase in Marlboro, MA. Before heading home, Martha's Vineyard defeated the Fryeburg/Lake Region Ice Cats 11-0. Bridgton Academy would like to thank Coach Mincone and his team for the visit and wish them good luck this season.

DECEMBER TURNS COLD FOR BA
The Wolverines slump continued when they went 0-3 over BA Hockey Alumni Weekend.
The Wolverines dropped a very physical match against rivals Hebron Academy 6-2.
One Saturday, BA played a very determined Rice Midget AAA and fell 2-0. Sundays rematch was equally frustrating. Rice defeated the Wolverines 5-3. BA had hoped to get back on the winning track before Christmas Break, but mother nature caused the BA/Kent's Hill game to be cancelled.
Bridgton will start back up January 8th and 9th in Marlborough, MA when they participate in the EJHL Showcase.

COMMITMENT, SACRIFICE AND RESPONSIBILITY
The Bridgton Academy hockey team came back from a much needed Thanksgiving break and showed Coach Lounsbury and Coach Meserve how much they love playing hockey. "To date, this has been our best week of practice. Guys were highly motivated and truly impressed me with their attitudes" said Head Coach Jon Lounsbury. The coaching staff used a very high tempo practice plan all week and they expect the effort to carry over when BA takes on rivals Hebron Academy, Friday December 4 at Hebron.
BA did manage to have some fun at practice as well. Thursday pre-game practice finished with "Pick A Winner". This is when the entire team lines up and continues to take breakaways until there is only one man left. Not surprisingly, Coaches Lounsbury and Meserve made it to the semi-finals, but a special guest outshinned everyone. Head Lacrosse Coach Garret Bamann won the contest with a move which surprised everyone including himself. "Coach Bamann really showed us some fantastic moves. I wasn't sure a human body was suppose to move that way, but it really worked out for him during "Pick A Winner", said Team Captain Kyle O'Connell.
Bridgton Hockey has busy weekend planned. This weekend also happens to be the Bridgton Academy Hockey Alumni Game. The team will welcome back 40 alumni for a
2:15pm game. They will also welcome Rice AAA Midget Program Saturday 7:00pm and Sunday 11:00am.
