On Saturday the Jr. B hockey team started their weekend off with a big 7-1 win over the Worcester Wildcats. Chris Mini (Everett , MA) started things with assists from Marquise Cotten (Washington, DC) and Cody Norton (Essex, VT). John Sheil (Narragansett, RI), Zach Pettingill (Scarborough, ME), Dan MacInnes (Plymouth, MA), Brian McKeown (Scarborough, ME), Billy Smith (Boston, MA), and Norton netted the next six goals for Bridgton in the dominating win. John Busa (Billerica, MA) played in net for the Wolverines and saved 13 of the 14 shots that came his way.
On Sunday the Wolverines continued their weekend with a 7-3 loss to the Jr. Valley Warriors. Sheil put away Bridgton’s first goal of the game from Dusty Burke (Sherborn, MA) and Smith. MacInnes tallied his second goal of the weekend off a feed from McKeown and Cory Durkin (Narraganset, RI). Finally McKeown netted Bridgton’s third and final goal unassisted. Brendan Gaetjens (Montclair, NJ) played between the pipes and saved 38 of 45 shots he faced.
Coach Meserve commented after the second game, “We did some things very well this weekend, however, there is a lot of little things we have to fix. In both games, our attention to details cost us some opportunities”
