BA EDGES GLADES 2-1
Behind a stellar performance by Nate Potter (Hartford,VT/Hartford High), BA defeated the Vermont Glades Norwich University. Potter turned aside 25 shots through two 25 minute halves. The lone Glades goal came on the power play, where Potter was screened the entire time.
BA might of played their most complete game of the year. "This was Bridgton Hockey. We battled hard in both ends of the ice and controlled the puck deep in the offensive zone" said Assistant Coach Mike Meserve. The Wolverines scored the first goal of the game when Colin Hurd (West Tisbury, MA/Martha's Vineyard High) took a feed from Chris Howard (Shelburne,VT/CVU) and buried a shot low blocker side. Patrick Sen (Niles, IL/Loyola Academy) also added an assist on the play. Bridgton controlled the tempo for most of the period, but reaclly lacked the "Killer" punch to put the Glades away.
The second half started like the first. BA constantly pressured in the Glades zone, but managed very few high quality shots. Defenseman David Stevens (Lynn, MA/Lynn English) scored on a nice wrist shot on the power play. Howard picked up his second assist of the game when his made a nice fake on a shot and slide the puck over to a waiting Stevens. Stevens then drove a gorgeous shot low blocker side, through a screen, for the eventual game winner.
BA looks to build on their winning ways when they take on rivals Hebron Academy at home Wednesday 4:00pm.
