To wrap up the week, the Jr. A hockey team traveled to Lake Placid, NY to participate in the Northwood Tournament. In their first game, the Wolverines faced off against the Valley Forge Minutemen and won 5-1. Colin Edwards (Winchester, MA) started the scoring with an assist from Brendan Glynn (Quincy, MA). Glynn then netted his own goal with help from Jimmy Magrath (Medfield, MA) and Ryan Connors (Marshfield, MA). Steve Bellew (Hingham, MA) also netted a goal with assists from (Zach Wells Hyannis, MA) and Marco Spisso (Highland Falls, NY). Magrath and Edwards secured the win with the final two goals of the contest. Mike Gendreau (Medford, MA) played in net stopping 15 shots.
In the second game, the Wolverines fell short as they lost 3-1 to the Northwood School. Magrath scored the lone goal for Bridgton with an assist from Sam Scannell (Glastonbury, CT). Pat Farrington (Sandwich, MA) played in net with 30 saves in the loss.
Looking to make up for the previous loss, the Wolverines came out strong against St. Francis and walked away with a 3-1 win. Cam Kennedy (Lynn, MA) was first on the board for Bridgton with assists from Scannell and Connors. Mike Marchionda (Hyde Park, MA) tallied a goal with help from Kevin Seeley (Berkley, MA). Magrath netted Bridgton’s final goal of the tournament with assists from Bellew and Edwards. Jordi Van Gaal (RyMenam, Belgium) stopped 33 shots between the pipes.
