The hockey team took to the ice on Wednesday in an intra-squad scrimmage. The game gave the guys a chance to hit the ice at game speed. It also provided the coaching staff with an opportunity to evaluate their team. Coach Lounsbury was very happy with what he saw. "I thought the scrimmage went well. It definitely gave the coaching staff a chance to sit back and see what people can bring to the table! We are exited about how things turned out and look forward to the start of the season next month," says Coach Lounsbury.
Coach Mike Meserve also learned a lot from this scrimmage. "Overall it was a solid game. The guys are starting to understand the systems we implement, but are a long way from being proficient," said Coach Meserve.
Both Bridgton Academy hockey teams will kick off their seasons in October. The A team will see their first competition on Saturday October 2nd at 1:00 P.M. against the Boston Bulldogs. The game will be played at the University of Southern Maine. The B team will see their first competition the following week when they host the University of New Hampshire's club team at 12:00 P.M. on October 9th.
