BA Junior Hockey @ USPHL Showcase January 3-4, 2014

MARLBORO, MA—The Junior Hockey Wolverines opened the second half of their season by taking part in the 2014 USPHL Showcase at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, MA.
The Wolverines opened the showcase with a matinee on Friday against the Florida Eels. Luke DiMarco (Glastonbury, CT) got the lone goal of the game, while Nicolas Dupuis-Gaureault (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC) provided the Wolverines with great goaltending.   
The Wolverines had a quick turnaround and were back in action Friday night to take on St. Andrew’s College. BA would fall to a final score of 7-0.
Wrapping up the weekend, BA faced College Du Alma on Saturday morning. BA would fall to a final score of 5-3, in which the Wolverines played their best hockey of the weekend and finished strong. Goals came from Tyler Burton (Wabbush, NF), Ryan McDonough (Dorchester, MA), and DiMarco. Dan Curran (Chelmsfrod, MA) was in net for BA.

The Wolverines are back in action next Wednesday (1/15) afternoon when they host in-state rival Hebron Academy at Bridgton Ice Arena for a 3:30pm puck-drop.

BA (Prep) vs. Northwood School


This past weekend the Prep team traveled down to Lake Placid to play Northwood School. It would be a tough weekend for the Wolverines as they lost their first game 5-2 and the second game 4-1. Scoring for the Wolverines came from Travis Bobb (New York, NY) and Maxwell Davies (Edgartown, MA). The Prep Team will look to bounce back at the beginning of the New Year as they are off until then.

BA (Junior) vs. Rothesay- Netherwood


The Junior Hockey team had two games this past weekend against Rothesay- Netherwood. BA won the first game 3-1, with goals from Luke Moma (Grosse Ile, MI), Ryan Shea (Pembroke, MA), and Andrew Irving (Beverly, MA). The Wolverines also had great goaltending from Michael Defilippo (Montreal, QC). The second game did not go BA’s way, resulting in a 2-1 loss. The only goal for the Wolverines came from Irving with an assist from Lucian Di Marco (Glastonbury, CT).

BA (Junior) vs. Maine Wild

NORTH BRIDGTON, ME—The Junior Hockey Wolverines hosted the Maine Wild for a midweek contest at Bridgton Ice Arena Wednesday night.
The Wolverines got their scoring from Ryan McDonough (Dorchester, MA), Tripp Franzese (Marblehead, MA), Jordan Smith (Freemont, CA), and Cam McLain (Westbrook, ME) each with one goal. Nicolas Dupuis-Gaudreault (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC) turned away a number of quality scoring chances throughout the game and earned the win in net.
The Wolverines are back in action this weekend when they travel to South Kent, CT to face off against the Selects U18 AAA team.

BA (Junior)


The Junior Hockey team traveled to Quebec, Canada for two games this past weekend. In the first game, BA came out firing on all cylinders, but ended up falling short 4-1. The only goal scored by BA came from Zach Lemerand (Grosse Ile, MI), assisted by Jordan Smith (Fremont, CA). On Saturday the Wolverines came out flying, but could not find the back of the net. The game ended 5-0, and BA never gave up for a second. The Wolverines look to bounce back this Wednesday at home against the Maine Wild at 7 P.M.

BA (Prep) vs. UNH (Club)


This past weekend Bridgton Academy’s Prep Hockey team traveled down to Dover, NH to face the University of New Hampshire Club team. It was an evenly matched game that saw scoring chances both ways. The Wolverines would fall to a score of 3-2 with Max Davies (Martha’s Vineyard. MA) chipping in a goal and an assist, Artem Yasynetskyy (Kharkov, Ukraine) with a goal, and Colin Donnelly (Quincy, MA) with an assist. BA had great goaltending from Dan Curran (Chelmsford, MA).
